Application Weeks
Over the past several weeks, we gave our parents the opportunity to practice what they have learned in a structured setting. Our parenting instructors, Nelson and Veronica, prepared the parents to have conversations with their kids about their school performance, their likes and dislikes, and their strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, the parents brought in their child's report card and the instructors explained what everything meant and how they should discuss the report card with their child. One of the goals of this activity is to strengthen the essential triangle of support between teacher, parent, and child.
Some of our parents have expressed how this activity has opened lines of communication between parent and child that has extended beyond their class time and into the home.
